Vargas could feel the roar in his veins and the thrum beneath his skin as the sun dipped in the sky. He stands at the edge of the Sunspires; the air warm with spices and fragrant grasses. An imperious wind shifting the veil of rust-colored sand that had settled on scaled redstone. Midsummer celebrations had commenced early, when golden rays had brushed against the meridian; wolves eager to train in preparation. Yet, it wasn’t until the stars appeared in a glittering sea that the true celebrations began-- and of course the competitions come dawn.
